Portals

During the depths of winter with the bitter, negative temperatures, the winds blow across the desolate prairies of North Dakota, humans rarely in sight. What really happens on the plains when the temperature drops, the winds blow, and all human life recedes to shelter? Is it possible to escape to somewhere else?

Portals is a series of photographs showing the gray, snowy loneliness of Mother Nature’s shifting climate during the winter season. The days can seem so long and the sun but a distant memory. Perhaps, during a daydream and longing to be anywhere else but this bitter cold tundra, it is possible to escape. In the depths of this fantasy exists the possibility that portals to other dimensions or worlds exists on the prairie, opening up on the worst of the coldest days.

Winter can be so long. It is vital to the mental state to keep hope, and creativity, alive.
